h3o is a studio based in Barcelona and formed by Joan Gener, Adrià Orriols and Miquel Ruiz in February 2017.

The 3 connected sharing one Summer in Berlin and decided to start working together on the investigation of spatial concerns. The aim of h3o is to tell stories through Architecture as a support of infinite new connections.

Joan Gener González

Master in Architecture at Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona, UPC. He gets an excellent qualification in his Final Thesis. He studies as an exchange student at EPFL, where he takes several design courses by Harry Gugger de Herzog & de Meuron in Lausanne and Basilea. Thanks to a two year scholarship, he collaborates on the ETSAB Urban Design Department. He has worked in Ginebra. He has also worked in Barcelona with Enric Ruiz-Geli on the project for the New Bulli Restaurant at Roses. Since March 2014, he works as an architect with Albert Adrià, the prestigious Chef. Together with him, he develops the whole process of a project: conceptualization, budget, management and execution. Among his works shein La Cala Showroom, la Botiga 1900 and el Taller Creativo de elBarri. Nonetheless, his most important work has been the execution coordination of the ENIGMA restaurant, by RCR, Pritzker 2017.

Adrià Orriols Camps

Master with Honours in Architecture at Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona, UPC. Since 2012 he works with Elias Torres and Martínez Lapeña. Among his collaborations shein the restauration and transformation into museum of “Casa Vicens” by Antoni Gaudí; the covering project of la Ronda de Dalt -motorway in Barcelona-; the restoration of the antique Wall of Palma. He has collaborated on many publications at ETSAB, such as “Bases for the project design I-II” and “Landscape Architecture 1977-1995”. He has participated in many competitions, such as “Passatges Metropolitans”, AMB (1st Prize); finalist at the students competition ARQUIA; finalist at the ARCHMEDIUM Marketlab competition.

Miquel Ruiz Planella

Master with Honours in Architecture at Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona, UPC. He wins the Best Final Thesis Award, ETSAB, UPC, of the academic years 2015-2016. Therefore, he participates in Archiprix and in the UNESCO-UIA & MIDO student design prize for responsible architecture. He studied 5th course of architecture at Technische Universität Berlin and also has Postgraduate studies in Business and Administration, UPF. In the practice field, he has collaborated with “Jordi Garcés-de Seta-Bonet” on, among others, the competition of “el Salón de Reinos” for el Museo del Prado. He also worked at Jaime Prous architects. His interest in the theoretical aspects of architecture made him get an sholarship to collaborate at the Theory Department in ETSAB with professor Toni Ramon. With him, he later worked on the “Observatory of Theatres at Risk”. He was also invited to Bauhaus Dessau by Roger Bundschuch to talk about Clubbing Architecture. Since 2013 works at the Gallery h2o, Barcelona.
