HYBRID PARLIAMENT is a proposal of a sustainable and durable social and ecological structure. It is a shelter for HYBRIDATION of all possible and future human and non-human realities and sensibilities of the global metropolis of the 21st century.<\/p>\n
HYBRID = Unconventional, antipatriarchal, feminist, queer, anti-canonical<\/p>\n
It is an architecture-manifesto for Rotterdam that supports a democratic, productive, inclusive, egalitarian and horizontal community. Personal conflicts derived from coexistence are channelled through speech and agreements among the parts reproducing a PARLIAMENTARY operation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Parliament = Democracy, horizontality, anti-authoritarianism, cooperation, agreements\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
God created the\u00a0world\u00a0but the Dutch created the Netherlands<\/p>\n
Rotterdam is a city with large infrastructures: the harbour, polders, existing and old railway routes, the canals, bridges and locks (No se que es locks)\u00a0and the fast connection roads. Paradoxically, these ways designed to communicate become great barriers and often leave the neighbourhoods isolated from one another, as it is the case of Kop DakPark and Marconiplein: a large, formless, empty void with no sense of urbanity.<\/p>\n
Convert the great urban void of Kop DakPark – Marconiplein into a spot of centrality at local and urban scale. An intervention that CONNECTS (No se que quieres decir con zip) the neighbourhoods and transforms what currently is nothing into a new meeting and activity reference that offers the means for new dynamics of social strengthening and exchange neighbourhoods and metropolitan dynamics through the enhancement of the Parklane green continuum. New \u201ccanopy\u201d and greenery <\/u>to enhance Co2 and capture and transform the site into a climate adapted spot.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em>Unveil the Memory of the place <\/u>erased during Big Shops construction: new urban lightning (lighting? Habla de luces?) lines evoking railway tracks.<\/p>\n <\/u>Meeting spaces: <\/u>playgrounds, open air sport facilities, shelters.<\/p>\n Productive and interactive environment <\/u>by introducing digital and physical facilities: WIFI, urban GARDENS (harvesting?), equipped surfaces<\/p>\n Activate the Big Shops with new economic activities. New facade treatment and cross connection terraces<\/u><\/p>\n Optimization of the public transport hub: <\/u>metro, tramway, bus<\/p>\n Hybrid parliament, a boat, a park, a big common house. \u201cHybrid Parliament\u201d for humans and non-humans. Its continuous ground floor is a climate-controlled park and its green walkable fa\u00e7ade that grows from the park allows collective appropriation for both citizens and animals. It is a node of biological centrality in the Anthropocene era.<\/p>\n \u201cHybrid Parliament\u201d should not be understood as a conventional building but as a multiplication of the urban Surface for and by the new ways of inhabiting, working and leisure of the 21st century. It is a building understood as a juxtaposition of plans equipped and thermally controlled to densify the city and to offer a neutral shelter for ALL SPECIES\u2019 of life.<\/p>\n \u201cHybrid Parliament\u201d is a lighthouse where everything metropolitan happens. It is not just a productive building but a building with a social and inclusive dimension where everyone is welcomed.<\/p>\n \u201cHybrid Parliament\u201d is a manifesto of the Omgevingsvisie (productive, inclusive, circular, healthy and compact city). A repeatable system that can be placed in other sites in Rotterdam.\u00a0 It acts as a Manifesto of the Omgevingsvisie: a prototype building that enhances the social resilience of Rotterdam and contributes to the good growth of the city.<\/p>\n Long section<\/em><\/p>\n Marconiplein and KopDakpark MELT INSIDE IN aN urban continuum<\/p>\n It extends Marconiplein\u2019s hub to its ground floor by creating a large public square. It lengthens the park up to its roof through the great green staircase all over the fa\u00e7ade, which acts as a green vertical garden for socialization.<\/p>\n Cross section<\/em><\/p>\n A PERMEABLE SPACE between neighborhoods<\/p>\n The surrounding neighbourhoods are specialized: living, working, leisure\u2026. The building condenses all these functions at the same time under one single roof sheltering new society forms of the 21st century. Where before there was division due to lack of activity, now there is union through diversity. The ground floor is shaped with a new topography to allow the connection between the neighbourhoods.<\/p>\n Systemic building<\/p>\n Systemic building<\/p>\n \u201cHybrid Parliament\u201d can grow in height and width adapting itself to the specificities of the site and program.<\/p>\n The proposal reflects 100 living units for all kinds of humans.\u00a0 That said, it can grow following its architectonic rules to reach the 50m height (now 35m).<\/p>\n Protection against noise: building shape<\/p>\n The building separates 15 meters from the perimeter to ensure noise protection as well as to not shade the buildings on the north side and to allow a proper connection with the big shop\u2019s fa\u00e7ade.<\/p>\n GROUND FLOOR<\/p>\n Topography shaping allows continuity between interior and exterior and creates areas where multiple activities take place. It is a large equipped plane that supports multiple uses. The ground floor is a \u00abclimate-controlled park\u00bb and brings the building activity to the city. A tilting glass fa\u00e7ade opens and closes according to the activities and the weather.<\/p>\n Dakpark lengthens through the large public staircase along the fa\u00e7ade to the public rooftop garden.<\/p>\n STRUCTURE – GRID<\/strong><\/p>\n A metal structure of pillars that support triangularized beams allows to cover the space with large spans. \n \u201cHybrid Parliament\u201d, as a stranded ship lost from the nearby harbour. It points to the virtual continuity between\u00a0Marconi Plein square and Kop Dakpark with its bow, melted in a large urban continuum.<\/p>\n
